The survey, conducted between January and December 2025, shows that while insurance coverage has increased considerably compared to the 2017-18 (75th round), this has not translated into a significant rise in the utilisation of hospital care.
A greater proportion of people are now going to the private sector. Meanwhile, out-of-pocket (OOP) expenditure on hospitalisation has risen sharply between 2017-18 and 2025, particularly in the private sector.
