Sreeshankar’s U-20 long jump record from 2018 by leaping to a distance of 8. 23m in the 24th under-20 Federation athletics competition in Tumakuru on Saturday (April 25, 2026). It was an improvement on Sreeshankar’s mark by three centimetres.

Elsewhere, there were new records set in the men’s 400m by Kerala’s Mohammed Ashfaq, in men’s 5000m by Uttar Pradesh’s Nitin Gupta and in women’s 5000m by Madhya Pradesh’s Ranjana Yadav.
